The HDC-F950 is the elite of Sony's
HD camera system. This
camera offers full band width 4:4:4 RGB signal processing and
output capability. The new camera facilitates the same range of
picture capture rates as the Sony HDW-F900 camcorder; in
progressive mode: 23.98P, 24P, 25P, 29.97P, 30P and; in interlaced
mode: 50i, 59.94i and 60i. A single cable carries the 10 bit digital
HD – RGB video signals, audio feeds and a variety of camera
control signals to a separate CCU recorder. The exposure latitude
on the F950 has improved by 1 T-stop allowing greater flexibility in
depth-of-field and highlight control. The F950 was used in the
production of Sin City and Star Wars Episode 3. Sim Video was the

film co-production shot in Toronto.
